Andrew Foley Continues To Write Things

What’s Next for DONE TO DEATH?

(WARNING: This post contains naughty language. Stop reading now, Lukas, your parents think I’m enough of a bad influence on you as it is.)

As I’ve said to a number of people, if there’s one comic property thematically required to be run into the ground via endless sequels and senseless exploitation across all media and merchandising platforms regardless of their suitability to the content, it’s DONE TO DEATH. Therefore, I give you my grand plan for the future of the DONE TO DEATH franchise post-IDW’s release of the DONE TO DEATH collected edition:

COMING SOON! - DONE 2 DEATH: DONER TO DEATH

COMING SOON AFTER! - DONE TO DEATH 3: OVERDONE TO DEATH

COMING SOONER OR LATER… - DONE TO DEATH 4: THE DONEST DEATH

COMING SOMETIME, IT’S PRETTY MUCH INEVITABLE AT THIS POINT - DONE TO DEATH 5: THE FINAL SELLOUT

IT’S COMING AND THERE’S NOTHING YOU CAN DO TO STOP IT - DONE TO DEATH 6: SIX OF DONE, HALF A DOZEN OF THE DEADER

OH GOD SO MUCH MONEY I’M COMING OH YEAAAHHHH - DONE TO DEATH REBORN

OH, COME ON. SERIOUSLY? - From the creators of DONE TO DEATH 3: OVERDONE TO DEATH, DONE TO DEATH REBORN 2: REBORN AGAIN

NO. JUST NO. I DON’T CARE IF IT IS COMING SOON, I’M DONE WITH THIS CRAP. NO, SERIOUSLY, JUST-JUST FUCK OFF. I’M NOT DOING IT. - SLURP: The Major Motion Picture supposedly based on DONE TO DEATH by Andrew Foley & Fiona Staples

(That last one actually exists in screenplay form. Taken on its own terms, I’m very happy with it, but DONE TO DEATH it most certainly is not. I’m now semi-seriously contemplating adapting the screenplay as a comic, because it would amuse me to see SLURP: The comic book adaptation of the unproduced movie theoretically but not really based on the DONE TO DEATH graphic novel by Andrew Foley and Fiona Staples actually appear on the stands.)

Andrew Foley Continues To Write Things He wrote DONE TO DEATH, published by IDW and featuring art by Eisner nominee and Shuster award winner Fiona Staples (Image's SAGA, North 40, The Mystery Society), Foreword by 30 Days of Night creator Steve Niles.

He co-wrote the comic book COWBOYS & ALIENS with Fred van Lente, but you'd probably never know it if you didn't have a copy of the book in your hands. Currently available from HarperCollins' !tBooks imprint.

He wrote the short story "Fit For A King", for Dark Horse's CREEPY COMICS #4. Art was by Rahsan Ekedal (Top Cow's Echoes, Solomon Kane) A collection including the story is now available.

He wrote a comic called THE HOLIDAY MEN in THE MASSACRE MEMORIAL DAY SALE MASSACRE. Art by The Future of Comics (III) Nick Johnson. You can read it at Graphic.ly under the Please Remain Comics banner.

He wrote the comic book PARTING WAYS, which was drawn by Scott Mooney and Nick Craine (X-Statix). It is also available at Graphic.ly under the Please Remain Comics banner.

He writes tweets. A lot of tweets. Some of them make sense. A few of them aren't complete fabrications. The previous sentence was a complete fabrication.

He used to write a different, less focused blog than this one is intended to be. Andrew6 on LiveJournal. Is LiveJournal still a thing? I haven't checked recently.

He's writing a lot of other stuff. But not nearly enough. Never enough.

Andrew can be reached at tafoley@ telus.net, when he can be reached at all.
